Tata Motors unveiled the Tiago, its first hatchback bearing new Impact design language, in December last year. After numerous rumoured launch dates, the company has officially announced it will launch the Tiago April 6.
The Tiago is powered by new petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron naturally aspirated petrol engine is tuned to produce 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque while the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine dishes out 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across the range. The company has confirmed that an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) would be offered at a later stage.
The Tata Tiago is offered with a set of brands new engines from Tata. The three-cylinder petrol powerplant displaces 1199cc and produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque. The 1.05-litre diesel engine also features a three-cylinder layout and produces 69bhp and 140Nm of torque.
The Tata Tiago is available with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm and a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine that develops 70 PS and 140 Nm. A five-speed manual is the only transmission option but a Tata Tiago Automatic is in the pipeline.
