There are a few visual cues which are distinct from the regular new-generation Swift, already on sale in Europe and Japan. The Swift Sport will be sporting will have a slightly sportier front end, thanks to a new mesh grille and muscular bumper with black housing for fog lamps.
On the inside, the Swift Sport will get an all-black interior with contrast red stitching and blood-red inserts all around the cabin. The tachometer too gets a red treatment, but the center screen on the instrument cluster now comes with a boost gauge in a typical JDM fashion. The infotainment screen will come with smartphone integration as well. Everywhere else, the cabin remains the same.
The leak suggests that the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will go on sale in Japan on 20 September 2017. It also gets the same safety kit as in the standard model which includes the advanced Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) collision-mitigating system.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will debut in Japan this year followers by the launch in European markets. The company will also introduce the Suzuki Swift RS globally which will get the 1.0L boosterjet engine making it two sporty variants to complete the portfolio. Maruti Suzuki has not yet confirmed the launch of Swift RS in India yet, but in all possibility the company will bring in the sport variant of Swift in India later in 2018.
