Suzuki introduces a Vitara Diesel

Suzuki claims its new diesel-powered Vitara sips only 4.9L/100km, an improvement over the turbocharged petrol variant’s claimed 6.2L/100km.

Priced from $35,990 plus on-road costs, the new SUV sits atop the current range, surpassing the just released turbo petrol S variant.

Suzuki is boasting excellent fuel economy for the diesel Vitara getting down as low as 4.9L/100km.

The Vitara RT-X diesel is rounded out by 17” alloy wheels, leather and suede seats, LED daytime running lights, Apple Carplay and a unique dual panoramic sunroof.

“The addition of turbo engines to the exciting Vitara has seen demand for the vehicle grow even further. We’ve listened to our customers who have been asking for a diesel option, so are excited we can deliver.”

The Hungary-built Suzuki Vitara is the company’s second-biggest selling model this year in Australia with 1538 units, compared to the Swift at 3246. It has a market share in its Small SUV segment of almost 5 per cent.
