Confirming the rumor and authenticity of the images that appeared on the web recently, SsangYong announces the presentation of its next big SUV on March 30 at the Seoul Motor Show.
Prefigured by the LIV-2 concept at the last Mondial in Paris and codenamed Y400, this trainer measures 4.85m long, 1.92m wide and 1.80m high with a wheelbase of 2.86m. It is made of 63% high-strength acer, a guarantee of a rising stiffness and a lower weight compared to its predecessor.
The Rexton, in its new version, has been completely reworked. This car will be offered under two types of engine: a 2.0-liter Turbo GDi (petrol) that develops 225 horsepower, and a 2.2-liter Turbo XDi (diesel) of 187 horsepower. It is also offered with two gearboxes, either manual or automatic six-speed, and two transmissions: two- or four-wheel drive.
Note that the crossover accommodates up to seven passengers, and has true off-road capabilities. The car will be marketed from the second quarter in South Korea, then gradually into the rest of Europe, once passed the Seoul Fair (from March 31 to April 9, 2017). A car in the purest DNA brand.
