Ssangyong concentrates most of its activity around SUVs. And to be noticed in this segment very competitive, the South Korean manufacturer does not hesitate to produce models quite original, such as the image of the Tivoli. Just unveiled in Geneva, the concept XAVL thus takes back these two fundamental characteristics of the productions house: character of adventurer and lines audacious, even confusing.
The angular lines with numerous reliefs, the body protections and the high ground clearance ensure the XAVL a robust look of baroudeur. SsangYong announces off-road capabilities, but the concept has only two-wheel drive. The South Korean brand announces a 1.5L gasoline block and a 1.6L diesel engine at unknown powers. Manual transmission as automatic are announced.
This XAVL concept is nothing but a foretaste of what will be the future model of the brand. Let’s hope that the manufacturer tells the truth because to chain international exhibitions by presenting different SUV concepts there are people, but to proceed with the development of the series model, SsangYong does not seem to be in a hurry to get involved . The proof with the XAV concept presented two years ago in Frankfurt or more recently with the LIV-2.
The XAVL is available either in 1.5 liter petrol of 163 hp or in 1.6 liter diesel of 135 hp. They can be coupled either with a 6-speed manual transmission or with an automatic transmission, in 2WD.
