The new Phantom will come with the all-new 563bhp 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine which will be capable of going from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds. The new luxury sedan also features an all-aluminium spaceframe architecture which it lighter and 30% stiffer than the last generation.
But Rolls’ sound engineers didn’t stop there—they also turned to the vehicles tires, working with Germany’s Continental Tire to develop an all-new sound-isolating tire. Dubbed ‘Silent-Seal’ tires, the new rubber integrates a layer of sound-absorbing foam within its belts to reduce tire cavity noise and overall tire noise by a staggering 9db.
The Architecture of Luxury is an all-aluminium spaceframe architecture designed by Rolls-Royce engineers that will underpin every future Rolls-Royce beginning with the New Phantom. As such, no future Rolls-Royce will be of monocoque construction as used by mass-manufacturers and some mass-luxury brands.
The Phantom has a 6.75 litre twin-turbo V12 engine, a top speed electronically restricted to 155mph and is capable of 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds.
