The millionth 911 remains in Porsche AG’s hands. Before joining the Porsche Museum’s collection, he goes on a world tour through, among other things, the Highlands, the US and China. Of course, number 1,000,000 also involves the Nürburgring.
Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of Porsche AG’s Supervisory Board, was involved in the development of the 911: “54 years ago, I made my first trip on the Grossglockner Alps. Today I still enjoy the same way of feeling like 911. Thanks to the 911, the core values of our brand are as visionary as those of the Porsche 356/1 from 1948. ‘
In appearance there are the necessary references to the original 911-jes from past days. The lacquer is called ‘Irish Green’ and resembles the color of Ferry Porsche’s first 911. The tint also reminds me of the classic 911 that Robert Redford wields at the end of the movie ‘Spy Game’. In the interior the chairs are lined with a kek diamond pattern. The steering wheel was made for half of wood and was trimmed with an old school Porsche badge from 1964, just like the car’s nose.
Wolfgang Porsche – Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Porsche AG – was involved in the development of the 911 from the beginning and was presently the millionth copy of the band today. “54 years ago, with my father, I made the first rides on the Grossglockner Alps. Today, I still enjoy the 911 feeling like when, “said the grandson of founder Fendinand Porsche (1875-1951) and brother of Ferdinand Alexander (1935-2012), the designer of the first generation Porsche 911.
