The company has already signalled its intentions with the Esflow concept, an electric two-door coupe revealed in 2011, and the Terra concept, a 2012 electric SUV, and the arrival of the new Leaf should bring those concepts to production reality.
On the outside, this version of the Leaf is much sleeker than before with Nissan adding blue detailing as a signature feature for its electric vehicles and LED headlights. The interior has also received a complete redesign, with a seven-inch display that can display Apple CarPlay and Android Auto acting as the centrepiece.
Prices for the 2018 Nissan Leaf start at $29,990 in the United States. It will be rolled out in this market by January next year.
