Across the 0-100km/h sprint the new 911 Carrera T takes just 4.5 seconds (0.1 second quicker than the regular Carrera), with 0-200km/h taking 15.1 seconds. Opting for the PDK dual-clutch auto sees these sprint times drop to 4.2 seconds and 14.5 seconds, respectively. Fuel economy is stamped at 9.5L/100km.
The 911 Carrera T is also the lightest new 911 one can buy. The rear window and rear side windows are made from lightweight glass, the doors feature opening loops, and insulation material has been largely reduced. The rear seats have been omitted along with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), though both are still available on request at no additional cost. At 1,425 kg, it’s 20 kg lighter than a comparable 911 Carrera.
“Porsche is in the unique position to offer Wilson Security not only a strong motor racing platform in Carrera Cup but also exclusive additional opportunities through bespoke customer experiences that only come with a strategic alignment. We look forward to this exciting new partnership and working with Wilson Security throughout 2018.”
Porsche has priced the 911 Carrera T at just over £85k in the UK, representing a £12k jump in price over the standard Carrera. Specify a standard Carrera to this level and even without the bespoke components and PASM (which is not available on a standard Carrera), you’ll be over the £85k asking price anyway.
