BMW confirmed that it will bring to Brazil, still in the first half of this year, the line 2018 of the Series 5. The model, which won a new generation, debuted in October in Europe. The 530i M Sport and 540i M Sport versions will be coming out here. They stand out for embedded technology such as the Driving Assistant Plus, a device that provides semi-automatic driving with collision risk alert and assistants for rolling range changes, slow traffic and parking.
Under the hood, the 5 5i M Sport has a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder unit capable of delivering 252 hp of power between 5,200 and 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 35.69 kgfm. Coupled with an eight-speed Steptronic sports automatic with paddle shifts and traditional rear-wheel drive, the engine powers the 0 (zero) sedan at 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds.
The 530i M Sport comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder 252 horsepower. According to BMW, it accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. The 540i M Sport uses a 3.0 turbo six-cylinder and 340 hp. It goes from zero to 100 km / h in 5.1 s. The top speed of the two is limited electronically at 250 km / h. Both receive an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Changes in exterior design include new headlamps, bumper and grille with flaps that open and close, controlling airflow to improve aerodynamics and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
