Audi will present a new sporting positioned between the TT and R8, which would be based on a model of Volkswagen Group duo: the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman. This Audi R6 would be offered in coupe and convertible.
This at least shows that the German magazine Auto Bild also indicates that electric propulsion would be considered. But the R6 would rely primarily on block 5-cylinder petrol engine that would offer outputs ranging from 280 to 340 horsepower. Secondly, a version reaching 400 horsepower is also planned.
This is the case of the branch of sports where there is a gap between the TT and the R8, which could be filled, according to the German magazine AutoBild, through R6. A model which, always the same source, would benefit from elements from the cousins at Porsche, which after the changes made in the various directories, is more likely to accept this association, which was not the case just a few years, given the historic rivalry between these two brands, even if they belong to the same group.
This collaboration would use the accustomed platform on the Porsche Boxster and Cayman, but Audi would use, for against, his own blocks. AutoBild table on the house five-cylinder and an electric version also the German magazine announcing the same for 2018.
