Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown SUV maker has finally launched the much-awaited Mahindra NuvoSport sub-4 metre SUV in India today. The vehicle is priced in the range of INR 7.35 lakh to INR 9.76 lakh, ex-showroom Thane. Like the Quanto, it is a seven-seater SUV that has been developed and designed by the carmaker’s in-house design team.
The Nuvosport has been launched in six variants including two variants with automatic manual transmission (AMT) option. The AMT is also offered by M&M on the TUV300.
The compact utility vehicle is powered by a 1,493cc diesel engine which is also seen on the TUV300. The vehicle can generate peak power of 100bhp. M&M has not given the Nuvosport a petrol option for now.
While its current SUV portfolio is quite comprehensive, the company identified a need gap where consumers are looking for a true blue SUV that will enable their active lifestyles. “The launch of the NuvoSport with its unique positioning encourages consumers to go out and fulfil their bucket lists in the area of adventure sports. We are confident the NuvoSport will emerge as yet another winner from our stable,” he added.
