The S400 comes with an extensive scope of equipment such as 7-colour ambient lighting, air suspension, four-zone automatic climate control, COMAND multimedia system, a 1540 watt, 24-speaker Burmester sound systems, rain sensing panoramic sunroof, seat massaging function, and parking assist as standard.

Safety features include eight airbags, electronic stability program, brake assist, hill-start assist and Mercedes’ PreSafe safety technology along with attention assist.

Mercedes-Benz India ended 2015 as the leading luxury car brand, thanks to the 15 new launches. The company is hoping to carry forward the momentum in 2016 and has promised 12 launches over the course of the year.

Folger further added, “The S 400 will be locally manufactured in our world-class production facility in Chakan, Pune. This is yet another firm affirmation of our vision of ‘make in India’, and our unwavering commitment to the Indian customer in presenting the best of our global offerings.”

In terms of safety, the vehicle comes with eight airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), PRE-SAFE, Dynamic cornering control system, Adaptive Brake with Hold Function, Brake Assist, ASR Hill Start Assist, 360 Degree Surround View Camera and an Active Park Assist. For the convenience of rear passengers, the vehicle comes with individual entertainment systems and the COMAND online New Generation Telematics 5 (NTG5) with animated menus and 3D effects apart. Moreover, the vehicle also gets an HDD to store music and videos, WLAN hotspot, SMS display, phone contact reader, radio and navigation.
