Maruti Suzuki has made an interesting development to its Baleno premium hatchback with the range-topping Zeta variant now equipped with an automatic transmission (AT). The Baleno Zeta automatic is priced at 7.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since its launch in October last year, the automatic transmission on the Baleno was offered only on the mid-level Delta petrol trim and missed on several premium features available on the top-end version.
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker has introduced an automatic transmission option in the Baleno Zeta petrol variant. Now, the automatic transmission options are available on Delta and Zeta trim of Baleno. The Zeta Automatic variant is priced at INR 7.48 lakh, which is around INR 60,000 pricier than the Delta CVT variant.
Since its launch in October 2016, over 44,000 Baleno cars have been sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium retail channel NEXA across India and in addition there are over 55,000 bookings to be served.
The automatic option – Continuous Variable Transmission – offered on the Delta variant has been much appreciated by the customers. We are now offering CVT on the Zeta variant as well, to popularise two pedal technologies.
