After being unveiled in Detroit in its “classic” version, the Lexus LS 500 limousine will be presented as a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show equipped with Lexus’ new Multi Stage Hybrid system.
Lexus LS 500h, this new version will embark alongside the V6 3.5-liter Dual VVT-i, two electric motors as well as a four-speed transmission whose behavior according to the Japanese manufacturer will offer performance similar to the ten-speed transmission Equipping the Lexus LS 500.
The technology called Multi Stage Hybrid System is carried back under the hood of the limousine. It incorporates a 3.5-liter V6 associated with two electric motors. The set is associated with a gear box with fixed transmission. The set should give the impression of using a traditional gearbox, while simulating the equivalent of ten gears.
No figures have been provided by the Japanese manufacturer. The Lexus LS500h should however offer a power similar or barely superior to the 359 hp of the LC500h coupe. The EV Only mode will allow the limousine to sail up to 140 km / h, for an unknown duration.
