The name Velar is not completely unknown at Range Rover. It was used to designate a prototype of the original Range Rover in 1969 and 1970. To attribute to this unpublished model a specific name should allow the Land Rover brand to distinguish it well from the other Range as the offer tends to Multiply and, incidentally, develop a mini-range around.
The information is launched by the English of Auto Express. The future Range Rover “Coupé” should be called Velar. This future model must come between the Evoque and Range Sport. Potential rival of a Porsche Macan for example, it could make its debut at the next edition of the Geneva show in March.
It is known that the Range Rover range will soon host a new model. Maybe we keep his first name.
