Including only Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, the new all-electric championship will provide drivers with the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world for this zero-emission motor sport. This unprecedented championship will support the launch of the Jaguar I-PACE – the 5-seater Jaguar electric sports car that will hit the market that same year. Each race will feature up to 20 I-PACE electrics in 10 international cities such as Hong Kong, Paris, Sao Paolo and New York.
The announcement follows the UK government’s announcement that it will ban petrol and diesel cars from 2040; it also adds to Jaguar Land Rover’s desire to develop electric vehicles. From 2020, all new models will be available in electric or hybrid versions.
The engine offer is a little more limited than on the sedan, initially a single gasoline engine driven by a 2.0 turbo 250 hp, and four diesel, from 163 to 300 hp. Prices start at € 44,320, or € 2,500 more than the sedan, and peak at € 81,990.
