Like the sedan, the new estate i30 SW is really not exuberant: presented at the Geneva show, it is more consensual than its predecessor, with its two-part rear lights with a very sober design, its large radiator grille Audi “or its more angular lines than before. It is also less compact than before, with a length of 4.49 to 4.59 m. It is 25 cm more than the sedan, despite an identical wheelbase, and precisely the format of a Peugeot 308 SW.
That said, what interests the lovers of breaks, these are the practical aspects. If the i30 Wagon maintains an identical wheelbase, it gains 24.5 cm in length (4,585 m) to accommodate a 602-liter trunk. Once the bench is folded down, the cargo volume reaches 1,650 liters. Values in the average. A 308 II SW displays 620 and 1660 liters respectively.
Under the hood, several engines are proposed. In essence, the offer revolves around the three cylinders 1.0L T-GDI of 120 equines and the four-cylinder 1.4L T-GDI of 140 hp. In diesel, it is the 1.6L CRDi which officiates.
Hyundai claims that the i30 Wagon comes with the most aids and safety in its class. We find an adaptive cruise control (perhaps not in France since the 5 doors do not …), an autonomous emergency brake and a technology to help track management. There is also the rear traffic alert, the blind spot detection and the first Hyundai driver attention monitoring system.
