Pre-launch activities for the Honda BR-V began from Wednesday (April 6, 2016) with the launch of a digital teaser campaign called #WhereNextWithBRV. As part of the campaign, the BR-V will be showcased in varied terrains and locales, says the company. The compaign will run on different digital media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages of Honda Cars India.
The model, which is based on the extended Brio platform – and shared by Mobilio MPV and the Amaze compact sedan – was unveiled last August at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto show. The BR-V faces competition from the likes of the Hyundai Creta, the Renault Duster, the Nissan Terrano and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
As a reminder, the Honda BR-V SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version will get a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 118bhp and 145Nm of torque while the oil burner will be a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that is good for 99bhp and 200NM of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
