Ever since the company revealed an image with the new car next to a sign saying ‘SPEED LIMIT 300MPH’, there have been a claims that this new car could be the first to have a massive top speed.
“The F5 is an all new car, designed and built from the ground up, from the engine to the chassis. We expect the Venom F5, named for the most powerful tornado speed winds on the Fujita scale, to be the first road car capable of achieving more than 300 mph and have worked closely with Pennzoil to get us across the finish line.”
The Chiron is expected to top that with an official run planned in 2018 – but Hennessey believes it’ll be able to top that.
No 0-62mph time has been revealed, but 0-186mph (300kph) will come in less than 10sec, and the company plans to break the 0-400kph-0 record comfortably, predicting a time of under 30sec. This would mean smashing Bugatti’s time of just under 42sec, and Köenigsegg’s subsequent time of 36.44sec.
