The German manufacturer has played on nostalgia for the design of this first SUV Coupe, the future Audi Q8. The brand states that “many design elements are reminiscent of the Audi Ur-quattro of the 80’s.” In a photo published by the German newspaper Welt we see Marc Lichte, design manager of the Volkswagen subsidiary, unveiling part of the front of this new model: we immediately notice the imposing front face and octagonal Singleframe grille.
Audi has yet to announce an official release date. The model presented at Detroit should be only a concept: some changes will undoubtedly take place between presentation and production, but the first images suggest that the model presented should be close enough to the one sale.
If the German manufacturer Audi already had its range of SUV, it lacked a segment born just recently: the SUV Coupé. Mercedes or even BMW already have their GLE Coupe and X6, respectively. Audi could hardly fail to match the competition. At Detroit 2017, it will be an opportunity for the public to get a taste of the brand’s first SUV Coupé.
The year 2017 will begin on the hats of wheels for lovers of beautiful cars since, as of January 8, 2017, will open the doors of the Auto Show of Detroit, first showcase for builders.
