2017 Force Gurkha, the new and updated version of the iconic off-roader from the Pune based carmaker Force Motors has finally gone on sale in India. With prices starting at ₹ 8.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the new Force Gurkha EOV a.k.a. Extreme Off-road Vehicle, is available in 3-door Xplorer and 5-door Xpedition variants.
Under the hood, 2017 Force Gurkha gets a 2.6 litre inter-cooled, direct injection, turbocharged BSIV compliant diesel engine that puts out 84bhp of power at 3200 rpm and 230Nm of peak torque. The fairlywell-powered engine is paired to G-28 5-speed all-synchromesh manual transmission and offers four-wheel drive with low range, and locking front and rear differentials.The vehicle gets a new suspension setup along with a new ladder-frame chassis. The front gets independent struts with gas-charged shock absorbers, while the rear features a new multi-link setup that also features gas-charged hydraulic shocks. As for safety, the SUV gets anti-roll bar.
The new car is powered with a 2.6 litre diesel engine with the unit now BS-IV compatible, which also comes with a new five-speed manual gearbox sending power to either the rear or all-four wheels.
The Gurkha Xpedition is expected to price at Rs 8.38 lakh while the Xplorer is priced at Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
