The famous Circuit de Monaco has been the site chosen by Renault Sport to present the Clio R.S. 16 concept car, with which the 40th anniversary of the division of the French brand competition and also returning this year to Formula 1, the pinnacle of world motorsport marks. Equip a 2.0L turbo engine that yields 275 horsepower and an impressive 360 Nm torque.
“Our goal was to build a concept car with genuine credentials and outstanding performance,” said Patrice Ratti, CEO of Renault Sport Cars.
“In the paper, producing a RS Clio driven by our most powerful engine of 275 HP 2.0L, the power unit delivers high torque of 360 Nm, an extremely appealing idea, but we had to make it feasible,” he said the French manager.
The design and development team successfully solved the inherent constraints of the project Clio R.S. 16 (the chassis was extended by 60 mm, 19-inch wheels and system optimization engine cooling) to generate a sporting expression. The result is an enhancement in the LED lighting system called R.S. VISION, this being a unique technology of multi-dimensional reflectors.
After his first public appearance on the streets of Monaco, his next appointment will be in the traditional festival of speed at Goodwood (UK) from 23 to 26 June.
