Here is the new Safety Car that will follow MotoGP around the world from the 2018 season, a BMW M5.
For the 20th year in a row, BMW will supply the official MotoGP vehicle in 2018. After the M2, the new BMW M5 will now be a Safety Car from the 2018 season. Soon to be presented at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the M5 will already be in action in Valencia next week for the last Grand Prix of the 2017 season.
Transmission is provided by the new 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox with Drivelogic. The weight has been reduced for more performance thanks to a lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof.
The 2018 BMW M5 MotoGP Safety Car will be officially presented to the public at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, which kicks off today.
