Since the arrival of the new DB11, the Aston Martin Vanquish, which is derived from the old DB9, probably counting the days he has left. The Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este, it offers a little early retirement pleasure: a passage in the workshops of Zagato, a friend of the family for the sublime DB4 GTZ 1960. Meanwhile, the bodybuilder Italian had exercised his talents on the V8 Vantage in 1986, the DB7 in 1999 and the V12 Vantage in 2011 (and a very forgettable DB9).
The Vanquish Zagato concept exudes a controlled sportsmanship. No huge spoiler but a discreet spoiler retractable. Obviously the carbon front blade and the huge rear extractor show their colors (red of course). The atmospheric V12 develops 600 horsepower here with links to the ground journals.
The interior is not left with carbon everywhere but the metal color bronze and leather. Compared to the bright red of the outside, it’s here in black and carmine colors more soothing. The semi-bucket leather seats receive the Z of Zagato red stitching and embossed on the headrests. It may be noted such details as “Z” that appear in the grille, or even in the recesses of the rear lights.
still difficult at this stage to say whether or not Vanquish Zagato will remain beautiful for a day, but the very limited mass production of an Aston signed “Z” has already taken place. The latest example dates from 2012, with still 101 copies of the V12 Zagato.
