That brand is Mopar, the accessories division whose name is an acronym for “Engine” and “Parts”, and that is celebrating its 80 anniversary just this year. In honor of this, FCA has just presented a Dodge Challenger Mopar ’17 special edition at the Chicago Auto Show. It is, in fact, the eighth exemplary series of Mopar models dating back to 2010.
It carries a 6.4-liter HEMI 392 engine which develops 485 horsepower and 475 foot-pounds of torque, enhanced by the Mopar Shaker Hood.
The engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The air intake is decorated with a Shaker plate, to maintain a classic touch to the design.
The Dodge Challenger Mopar ’17 will hit dealerships later this year. The price of this “commemorative piece” will be $ 55,790, approximately $ 10,000 more than a Challenger 392 Scat Pack 2017, which has the same engine. But of course: this is the price of exclusivity.
