This new pick-up is rumoured to be an off-road version of the current Ranger and it may adopt the Raptor nameplate from the F-150. The Ranger ‘Raptor’ has been created to pose stiff competition to off-road versions of the Ranger’s competitors, the Chevrolet Colorado and the Toyota Tacoma.

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak has received new seat designs with less piping and a shorter overhang with the intention of making them both more resistant to stains and increase comfort.

“Our engineers and designers have listened to what customers really want, taking their feedback and building it into an already superb range,” said Graeme Whickman, President and CEO, Ford Australia.

One can speculate, however, that the Ranger Raptor will probably have a horsepower of more than 325 and a 375 pound-feet of torque. It is also possible that Ford will equip the 2020 Ranger Raptor with the new diesel Power Strike V6 engine which will come with the upcoming Ford F-150.

MSN also noted that the Raptor name will likely be replaced as it is not the official name of the Ford Ranger. The Ford Ranger Raptor or whatever it will be called is expected to be released in North America in 2019. It will directly compete with the said Colorado ZR2 and the Toyota Tacoma TRD.
