We first told you about the X-Class last year, before Mercedes totally bummed us out by revealing it wouldn’t be coming to the U.S. in 2017.
This would be a welcome entry into the U.S. midsize truck market which has been heating up over the past few years. Our most luxurious vehicle in this segment is the GMC Canyon in its higher trims and those are still quite a different style of luxury than what Mercedes-Benz has to offer.
in the interior, the instrument panel has the concave trim element stretchnig across the entire width of the instrument panel, creating an open feel. it features a freestanding central display, in conjunction with the comand online multimedia system it has a screen diagonal of 8.4 inches, making it the biggest display in the segment. with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and the high-contrast in-plane switching technology, it offers a display that markedly increases the image quality of the 360-degree camera and the navigation maps.
The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class goes on sale in Europe this fall. It will debut in South Africa and Australia in early 2018 with Argentina and Brazil to follow in 2019.
