The i3s has more power than the base i3 and styling tweaks that differentiate it from the base model. Design changes include front and rear aprons with i3s-specific contours and special color accents in various spots across the vehicle. It has 20-inch wheels that are exclusive to the i3s and a sports suspension that includes a 0.4-inch drop in height.
New optional features include parking and traffic jam assistance systems, which enable the car to park itself and maintain a set speed in slow-moving traffic respectively. As standard, the i3 comes with heated front seats, rear parking sensors, climate contorl, a digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic lights and wipers.
It also gets new as-standard LED headlights, which are essentially the same shape as the older car’s. However, it looks better and more modern. Overall, the face of the i3 looks fresh again and more high-tech than before. I, personally, think that it looks more premium as well.
Australian timing is still to be announced, although a November production date for the new models is locked in. Therefore, Australian deliveries could start late in the first quarter of 2018 or early in the second.
