The $170,000 price tag easily tops the previous record for an Australian made car, which was also built by HSV and hit with a price of $155,000.
Another record the GTSR W1 can boast – the fastest 0 to 100km/h sprint by a local-made model… coming in at a cool quick 4.2 seconds.
According to HSV, the W1 – which is only offered with a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox from the Corvette – can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.3s quicker than the standard 430kW GTS.
All of these models also pack the LSA supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, with output registering at 550 hp and 509 lb-ft for the complete range apart from the GTS which has 576 hp and 545 lb-ft.
As for when Jackson will publicly confirm HSV’s future direction, he admitted the timing had to be worked through with Holden.
