The new car’s style features elements from a number of recent concept cars from the brand, as well as a different take on the ‘airbump’ side protectors which debuted on the C4 Castus.
A very stylish and distinctive front in unmistakably Citroen, and the profile shows a very smart work of the stylist’s design pen.
The new Citroen C3’s interior owes much to the C4 Cactus, with door straps and chunky controls styled in a similar way. Like most other recent Citroens, many of the auxiliary controls have been moved into a touchscreen located in the centre console.
The dashboard layout has been designed to give a sense of space, and can be chosen in a range of finishes, including paint or wrap. The seats are wide, much like those fitted to the C4 Cactus.
The general manager for the Citroen brand in Australia, Kai Bruesewitz, confirmed today that while a local launch is not yet locked in, the company is confident.
“Negotiations are well underway and we are very keen to reintroduce the C3 to Australia if we can deliver a package that meets the needs of Australian customers and complements the overall local brand direction.
“In the likely case that those negotiations are successful, we anticipate launching the vehicle in Australia mid-2017 with specifications and pricing confirmed closer to this time,” said Bruesewitz.
