Yes: the model you have before you and indeed the Amarok restyled. But it is true that distinguish it from its predecessor is not easy. And for good reason: the only aesthetic changes made affect the lower part of the shield, now more openwork. Nevertheless, the Amarok has the right to a revolution under the hood with the appearance of a 3.0 V6 Diesel. Offered with three power levels, it will support the 2.0 Diesel blocks 140 and 180 hp already in the catalog. Version of Appeal, the new engine will offer 163 hp. On the high-end models, the V6 develops 224 hp and 550 Nm of torque (7.6 l / 100 km; 199 g CO2 / km). Between these two levels will be inserted a configuration of 204 hp.
The big novelty lies under the hood since the Amarok facelift features a new V6 TDI 3.0-liter, associated with either a manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic with a 8-speed and offering three levels of powers 163ch, 204ch and 224 hp and identical maximum torque of 550 Nm.
Finally it’s almost more under the hood than Volkswagen Amarok makes its revolution with the arrival of the latest generation turbodiesel engine. From a 4-cylinder 2.0 turbo, we move to V6 3.0 liter turbo. Available in three power levels, the new Amarok restyled starts at 163 horsepower, and exceeds the 200 horses twice, in versions of 204 and 224 horses! The latter offering up to 550 Nm of torque, may be associated with an automatic 8-speed, and announces a consumption of 7.6 liters / 100 km for CO2 emissions of 199 g / km (malus € 6,500).
Note that depending on the engines, three transmissions are available on the Amarok restyled: propulsion, 4Motion propulsion mode with possibility of engaging the front or four-wheel drive with Torsen limited slip differential.
